Training Workshop: Good Operation Practices in Dairy Industries


Royal Scientific Society (RSS) held a 3-day training workshop on good operation practices in dairy industries during 27-29/11/2006. The workshop was held in cooperation with University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) and Enhanced Productivity Centers (IRADA).



The training workshop was delivered by Prof. Walter Bisig Professor for food Technologies from the Swiss College of Agriculture (SHL). The training targeted the owners, production managers, and operators of a number of small and medium size dairy plants in Jordan in addition to the consultants of IRADA and the RSS/CP unit.


The main objective of the workshop was to build up capacity on good operation practices, hygienic concepts and best suitable production techniques for village dairies in Jordan, with special focus on yoghurt, cheese production and the utilisation of whey in many suitable methods such as whey drink, ice cream production and animal feed.
