In Joint cooperation with World Environment Center (WEC) in United States, Cleaner production Unit of Royal Scientific Society has started implementing environmental governance project aim at supporting local industry to face environmental problems in areas of water, air emission and solid waste. 18 company, medium to large size, will be selected for project implementation in sectors of food processing chemical and metal.
The project is supported by US department of State and comes in line with the free trade agreement between the two countries. The project will be implemented in close arraignments with chambers of industry in Amman and Zarqa
Services provided by the project will include analyzing the gap between the company’s current environmental performance and the best possible performance levels, and identifying low-cost development and improvement opportunities. The project will also include identifying opportunities for cooperation and technology transfer with US companies, the possibility of building partnerships, identifying the best available technologies to suit the circumstances of the companies and giving alternatives to reduce costs.
